Certification Curriculum

A central focus of the Soho Pilates Teacher Training will be helping students understand the thread that connects the entire Pilates system.

Rather than learning Mat, Reformer, Chair and Cadillac as separate collections of exercises, students will learn how the same fundamental principles and movement patterns appear throughout the system, such as:

  • How a movement introduced on the Mat develops on the Reformer

  • How beginner exercises prepare the body for intermediate work

  • How intermediate exercises lead into advanced repertoire

  • How the same movement concepts appear across different apparatus

  • How the apparatus can be used to prepare, support or challenge a movement

  • How exercises can be progressed or regressed

  • How to build a coherent session rather than simply select individual exercises

The goal is for students to begin seeing the system rather than memorizing the system.

This concept will be introduced from the very first weekend and continue throughout the entire program.
